Flats
Trying to save money where I can for accommodations. Found this very cool website called Trusted Housesitters. You pay $100 to join and then you get to stay in peoples homes all over the world for free as long as you take care of their animals (sometimes it's just houses though). $100 seemed like a lot in my opinion, but now I have 3 weeks worth of accommodation, and for only $100, I think that's pretty good. I discovered that it's very popular in the UK, but not as much everywhere else, but it's still possible! Another thing I will be trying is Couchsurfing. Where you stay on peoples couches or extra rooms for free and sometimes/most times the hosts show you around the city and welcome you to their home. Another option I've been looking into is Workaway and Aupair World. I aupaired last year and am looking into it again. You stay in peoples houses/ become a member of the family. You look after the children and teach them your mother tongue, and you get paid around $70 a week. However, most families want someone for 3 months and I only want to do one.. so we'll see. Workaway is you helping a family or small business for a free place to stay. It costs $29 a year.. but it's like THS where I think it's worth it if you find enough places to stay and really follow through with it.
