Living In a Cult Town In Austria

This is going to be short, but weird.

The post I just wrote (wow!! Look at me go! Writing two posts!!) I brushed over me staying with a friend from Toronto who’s living in Austria. I did have a good time... but as much as a good time anyone can have stuck in the middle of no where, with no way of leaving and being surrounded by only people who work for this one company.

I’m one for cheap/free places to stay. It normally always ends up being a fun story. So when I was kind of close to Austria I just had to reach out to my friend and ask if I could swing by! I was only there for two nights but it was nice seeing him ☺️

BUT.....

I swear this was basically a cult town. My friend moved to Austria for some reason that I never really remember other than he works for some company. But where my friend lived was above a bar, which was owned by the company. Right beside the bar was a club, also owned by the company. About a 2 min walk away from the apartment (and the view I had everyday) was the company itself. Everyone that I met, lived in this town worked for this company as well. I tried to walk around one morning, while my friend was at work, and I got to a point that I actually couldn’t walk anymore! You needed a car to leave and my friend wasn’t nice enough to lend me his :p

Like I could for sure write a horror story or something about this town.

My friend skipped work my last day and we went to the next big town over and walked around and it was actually really nice. Went to a Christmas market and everything.

Just sucked that I was confined in this town until my friend got off work, which by then it was dark out. We went bowling one night and because my friend only pays for food and alcohol plus getting paid for work, he paid for everything which was amazing aha!

It was a fun, but very strange weekend. Nußbach everyone. Never go there. Unless you work for that company. Then it’s probably real fun 😅
