Now I Have Two Friends 😬

While with my sister in Cheshunt I didn’t really go out in the evenings. We went out for dinner one night and planned on going out in London but we were lazy and tired and decided not to go! I was also talking to some people on Couchsurfing who wanted to hangout but I only had three days with Syd and after spending my days in London walking everywhere I didn’t want to do anything. We went to one of Mikes darts game, but once again my sister and I were lazy and tired and went home early! So while in Sharnbrook I was kind of desperate to go do something. I find after a couple of weeks of not going out with friends that it’s the only thing I want to do. But being in Sharnbrook there was nothing and no one to hangout with. I was talking with this one guy through Tinder (I know I know.. but no was on Couchsurfing in that area and that was the next best thing) and he was 2km away and said he wanted to hangout but was “busy every single night” 😒. So I decided on Saturday night to go to one of the two bars in the town by myself. As soon as I walked in I regretted my decision but I was already 3 glasses of wine in and knew walking into a bar by myself and turning around and leaving would be weird, so I just walked to the bar. It was me, two bartenders and 5 men probably all over the age of 50. I just talked to the bartenders who were actually really kind and gave me some tips on what to do and where to go. Later that week I started talking to another guy off tinder who is from Northampton and he actually wanted to hangout! So the next Friday we went to the town over, Bedford. Neither of us had been there so we were both a little lost but ended up at a bar. After an hour there we decided to find somewhere a little more lively. We walked down the main strip peeking into all the bars and clubs. I ended up talking to one of the security guards outside a club asking him where we should go, and he gave us directions to a gay bar. Once there we grabbed a drink and asked the bartender how this place worked because there were 4 rooms. We worked our way to the kareoke room and sat down with this one guy as all the other tables were full. He was a little odd but it was funny and he ended up buying us drinks and then just disappeared! Both me and the guy sang, and watched everyone else butcher songs... It was really funny, and we were obviously the best! We then went to the dance room and I got everyone there to dance... well, mostly everyone. One guy was with his girlfriend and I got them both up and the guy kept saying “I can’t believe I’m up here!!! I don’t dance!” And since my job was done we left and planned to meet up Sunday. Sunday the couple I was housesitting for were back so him and I went to Cambridge for the day. I had already gone earlier that week, but because I was looking after the dogs and didn’t have a car it took me 2 hours to get there so I could only really stay one hour in order to get back on time so I didn’t leave the dogs for too long. So this time I got to actually enjoy myself, and I did! I went to my first tea room which was pretty exciting and for dinner we had Thai. I’m glad I met him and it definitely made my week a little more exciting. Just unfortunate that I met him in my last 3 days and then had to leave! In York the only people I met were the two people in the hostel and the couple I stayed with. I did meet one girl from Australia because we went on the same walking tour in the morning where I didn’t talk to her.. but then we also both went to the haunted tour and so that’s when I said hi, but she was leaving the next day so... :( But the couple I stayed with were really nice and the girl played the guitar so it was fun to be able to play again. So other than like the 5 people I’ve met so far my friends are mostly animals :p I’m excited to go to Edinburgh because I know I’ll meet people there and it’ll be fun! Yay for bigger cities, and yay for Halloween weekend!!
